Back to Cancun

The tour had finally come to an end, with a final dinner back in Cancun (100% Natural, of course), before we all left the next morning. As I've said before, for fresh fruit, fresh salads and the greatest fruit cocktails in the world, you must go to 100% Natural. Prices are very low, service is very friendly and fast and the Mexican meals are authentic, not westernized.

Downtown Cancun lacks one thing that Wellington NZ excels in, all the cafes and bars close by midnight which left one Kiwi and a Belgian aimlessly wandering the empty streets that night. New friendships had been formed and we had all enjoyed a great experience and learnt a lot about ancient Mayan life, modern Mayan life and seen some beautiful scenery. It was temnpting to stay, and certainly going to sleep that last night wasn't a high priority. One final interesting fact about Mayan life comes to mind. The Mayans were cautious people and always had a backup person for their kings and for most other important positions of power and even of servitude. This tradition is continued today - where you see one waiter in a restaurant, his backup is always close by, ready to take over should the need arise!
